In another example of six degrees of separation, Jay played golf with Joe Pesci (of Goodfellas, Casino, My Cousin Vinny and Raging Bull fame) on Monday.
The 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Invitational and Auction was held at the Calabasas Country Club. Hosted by the Boys & Girls Club of Venice, the event is a crucial fundraiser to support the Club during a time when more children and families than ever are struggling.
When asked if he was going to use his new friendship to pursue an acting career in Hollywood, Jay replied, “Fuhgheddaboudit!”
Organic Apple Blossom
We just received the most beautiful apple blossom branches from a small, family-owned farm in the high desert near Angeles National Forest. This variety is Black Twig, which was originally brought down to the farm from Oregon in the 1800′s on a wagon.
The farm has been in the family since the early 1950′s and the owners have always been dedicated to keeping keeping the apple trees organic and pesticide-free. Black Twig varities produce delicious apples and are also great for cider.

We just received photos from Melissa and Jason’s wedding at the Marina del Rey Marriott. In keeping with the very contemporary and chic ambiance Melissa and Jason wanted a for their celebration, we created a ceremony area that was dramatic and sleek using a fabric covered, orchid draped chuppah and large glass cylinders with pillar candles.

Last weekend at the Beverly Hills Hotel, we provided the flowers for an event honoring the late Roy Scheider and his last movie, yet to be released, Iron Cross.
Because there were over 300 guests, the tables were a combination of long rectangles and rounds, breaking up the room and providing an interesting visual.
In order to stay neutral against the bright persimmon linens, the flowers were all whites and greens in varying size and shape containers. This is another great way to add visual impact to table centerpieces. Read more
Pets and Fresh Flowers
We all love fresh flowers in the house, and our pets are no exception.
(Sam, our Siamese shop cat, finds the bunches of Lisianthus we brought back from the flower market today particularly irresistible.)
Especially drawn to fresh cut flowers and plants are indoor cats, who have a dietary requirement for greens that they will sometimes attempt to satisfy by chewing on the lovely flowers you brought home from the grocery store. But beware, there are a wide variety of flowers and plants that are poisonous to your pets! Especially dangerous are many varieties of lilies.
